This is the Hyde Park & Rookwood area division in The Cincinnati Man’s Best Bar in Cincinnati tournament. You can vote in this division below; the rest of the current entries are available at these links here.
Edge Inn Tavern
Review excerpt:
The Edge is a no frills dive. A staple of the Norwood/Oakley bar scene, the crowd is mostly of the hard-working/hard-drinking variety. Weekends usually draw a good crowd of locals and nearby restaurant workers.
O’Bryon’s Irish Pub
Review excerpt:
O’Bryon’s Irish Pub is the standard neighborhood sports bar. O’Bryon’s has a full menu with decent prices, a full bar and a decent juke box.
O’bryon’s also has a rooftop patio that is nice in the summer and offers complimentary peanuts. Having grown up in an ultra clean home, I must admit its sorta fun going to O’Bryons and throwing the peanut shells on the floor.
Hap’s Irish Pub
Review excerpt:
Hap’s is the legit irish pub if you’re looking for something real and down to earth among the upscale fusion restaurants and stuffy clothing shops of Hyde Park.
2 small rooms plus a back patio for when it gets warm, lots of wood, plenty of beers from across the pond on tap, and a spot of footy on the tele (sorry, i had to)
The Pub at Rookwood Mews
Review excerpt:
With the red call box on the outside, you know this place is going to be authentic. It’s a “pub” that is actually a pub. Then they have another one on the inside. OK, that goes a little too far and shows that they’re trying too hard. Ironically, that’s the same reason that the cask is currently out of commission; a bartender got overzealous pumping some ale.

I would love to vote in this, but the E isn’t an option…
Yeah, we’ll be doing this again next year, when you can nominate your faves. Call for nominations will be June 1, 2010, probably.
Always tough to beat an Irish Bar, but a good sports bar makes a good contender.
