It’s been quite some time since I posted one of these reviews. It hasn’t been a long time since I’ve had beer–I just haven’t had occasion to try many new ones lately. Nonetheless, here goes. I picked up Left Hand Milk Stout over the New Year’s break with the expectation (stupidly) that it was probably going [...] A couple weeks back, I reviewed Buffalo Bill’s Pumpkin Ale. In short, I found it to be pretty bad. Probably a bad choice for my first pumpkin ale, I figure. Over at /r/beer, I was told that Schlafly was the way to go. Of course, I was also informed that I’m an idiot. So, there’s [...] I don’t have a particularly good excuse for the fact that it took me so long to finally dig in to Christian Moerlein’s Oktoberfest selection. When they first tapped this year’s batch, I was all excited and couldn’t wait–well, apparently I could, so never mind. At any rate, I finally picked up a sixer of the [...] I’m reasonably sure that I’ve noted in the past that my go-to beer, in terms of type, is the Black Lager. That said, reviewing beers on the semi-regular basis that I do means that I don’t get to drink as many black lagers as I’d really like to. After the whole Pumpkin Ale thing, I [...] Wow. It’s been weeks since I’ve really done any kind of drinking worthy of a real review. This is either terrible because I’ve been negligent of the goals I’d originally set for this website, or good because I’m not thinking about beer so much these days. Lots on the plate, if you know what I’m [...] I went to the Hudy 14K tapping a couple weeks back with some of the fam before going to the Bengals-Broncos crapfest. For some reason or another, I always find myself super-excited, and probably wrongly so, about Moerlein releases of “budget” beers.
